Barre is one of the hottest trends, catching the attention of popular celebrities, like Madonna and Kelly Ripa, with studios popping up all over America, and even here in Osceola County! The rage is here to stay as clients are finding their bodies changing and toning with a few classes a week.
So… what is Barre?
Barre is a ballet inspired exercise that combines the body weight exercises of Pilates with the lengthening and stretching components of Yoga to give you a sleek and toned physique.
Are all barre classes the same?
All barre workouts differ slightly in structure. At W Fit barre classes are very contemporary, incorporating the wall mounted barre for the majority of the workout which provides the ultimate ballet experience.
Is dance experience required?
Barre Fit classes at W Fit are for all levels, shapes and sizes! From beginner to advanced, no experience is necessary! During the class you will be instructed to perform a move which is demonstrated first, and then modifications and advancements are given, giving the client the opportunity to go at their own pace.
Do I wear a tutu?
Normal exercise clothing is required, shoes are optional. Some exercises require lifting the legs, so flexible clothing is optimal (think yoga wear). Bare feet, socks, and shoes can be worn, however to achieve the most benefit in lengthening the muscles, bare feet are best!
Do I have to keep up with choreography?
No two Barre Fit classes are the same at W Fit! All moves are designed to challenge your core and inner balance. Cardio components are mixed in to engage fat burn, small hand weights to trigger muscle strengthening and deep breathing with yoga style moves to provide lengthening of the muscles.
Will Barre target my trouble area?
Barre targets the whole body, but places a heavy emphasis on legs and back side. Long muscles in the back will become stretched and lengthened. Arms are quickly toned by performing body weight exercises, and core is engaged in balancing and stabilizing.
So channel your inner ballerina and head to W Fit to start your transformation to a sleek streamlined dancer’s body!
