An Enlightening Day for Women & a Successful Day for Osceola businesses!
On August 25th, 2012 over a thousand residents from across Central Florida flocked to Osceola Heritage Park for The Osceola Woman’s Show: Head2Toe! Upon entering the lobby of the Exhibition Hall, women were greeted with a Swag Bag and a smile. What’s a Swag Bag? It’s a goody bag provided by Kent Custom Homes for ladies to fill with “treasures” they collected from 100 of County’s finest local businesses in the fields of beauty, health, and home! All the excitement was waiting just inside the lobby doors- one of the first activities was a fun photo booth for ladies to capture a special memory as they became a part of history at Osceola County’s first woman’s show.
Delegates had the opportunity to participate in “Interactive booths” where they could try Pilates for the first time, get a customized hair consultation from a Paul Mitchell educator, have their blood pressure checked, and even learn how they can have stubborn belly weight removed without surgery or down time! Beauty is more than skin deep, but having beautiful skin helps! A personalized foundation created to match one’s skin type and color brought the endless search for the perfect foundation to an end for many attendees. Local retailers brought unique gifts and apparel, including customizable flip flops and jewelry, to fun specialty gifts full of sass and class- the perfect find for a ladies day out!
Among the list of Exhibitors were some of the county’s most prominent professionals, physicians, and health care facilities. Osceola Regional Hospital’s chief executive officer, Kathryn Gillette, gynecological oncologist Dr. Sara DeNardis, and cardiologist Dr. Dr. Magda Sanchez – Velez brought a wealth of health information as they spoke on stage to attendees. Florida Hospital’s board certified gastroenterologist, Dr. Sandra Jara, and Dr. Jennifer Swoboda, MD, FACOG, and Section Chair for obstetrics and gynecology at Celebration Health. Dental health was covered by Dr. CRAIG P. AEBLI, D.D.S., M.S., FAGD, dentist; Kissimmee Family Dentistry. Other inspiring and affluent speakers included internationally recognized physician, speaker, author, and prominent research award winner, Dr. Ly Nguyen, chief medical doctor at St. Cloud Eye Center and Kissimmee Eye Center and, Dr. Eudene Harry, medical director at Oasis Wellness and Rejuvenation Center. After listening to the seminars, women visited the experts at their booths to ask questions. Because of these professionals, attendees of The Osceola Woman’s Show Head2Toe walked away a little wiser, and perhaps a little healthier having learned a great deal about their health and wellness.
Delivering a very motivating and encouraging keynote speech was none other than Vanessa Echols, founder of Compassionate Hands and Hearts Breast Cancer Outreach, and Channel 9 News Anchor. She shared her inspiring story of battling and conquering breast cancer, and how she turned her challenge into a blessing for so many women here in Central Florida struggling with breast cancer. What a blessing she and her foundation is to our local community and we are so humbled to have her be a part of our event!
