KISSIMMEE, Fla. (December 22, 2014)—The City of Kissimmee will host the 2015 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade and Unity Celebration on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in downtown Kissimmee. Residents, community organizations and businesses are invited to participate.
The theme of this year’s parade is “Living the Dream, Celebrating the Legacy” and should be incorporated into the design of each parade entry. The Parade kicks off at 11:00 a.m. with the celebration continuing at the Lakefront Park Civic Lawn until 3:00 p.m.
The City is seeking choirs and marching bands to participate, as well as floats for the parade. Those interested in participating in the parade must complete an entry application, which can be obtained online in the “Kissimmee Civic Center – Downloads” section of the City’s website at www.kissimmee.org.
Completed forms may be submitted by e-mail to MLKparade@kissimmee.org faxed to 407.935.1437, or delivered in person or by standard mail to the Kissimmee Civic Center at 201 East Dakin Avenue, Kissimmee, Florida 34741.
This year’s parade will also follow with a Celebration on the Civic Lawn at the Kissimmee Lakefront Park. Vendors who are interested in being a part of the celebration may contact Veronica Quinones at the Civic Center at email@example.com or by calling 407.518.2573.
